The Brodsky Quartet appears by arrangement with Cambridge Creative Management.

For the second of their three-concert series, the Brodsky Quartet will play one of Beethoven’s late string quartets, the one in B-flat major op.130. This is a substantial work in six movements displaying a great range of character and emotion; they will also play the Grosse Fugue, the original ending to the quartet. The programme will also include Benjamin Britten’s third quartet. This was Britten’s last major work, written when he was already seriously ill, and it has strong links with his final opera Death in Venice.
