The Carducci Quartet was formed in 1997 and is well known for frequent concert appearances and many recordings. Their outstanding performances of the complete cycle of Shostakovich’s fifteen quartets gained the accolade of a Royal Philharmonic Society Award. As well as having their own festival and record label, they are passionate about education and run workshops for schoolchildren. Their first concert includes a well-known quartet by Mozart, an early quartet by Shostakovich and a piece by Rebecca Clarke, a talented English composer whose music has been rediscovered in the last few years.
