The London Philharmonic Orchestra has an enviable reputation as one of the world’s leading orchestras. Since it was founded in 1932, it has worked with many of the greatest international conductors and soloists. It is based at the Royal Festival Hall in London where it gives many concerts and it also plays for the opera at Glyndebourne every summer.
Its visit to Dorking is an occasion definitely not to be missed! The brilliant violinist Chloë Hanslip will be the soloist in Brahms’ violin concerto – a beautiful lyrical piece with a ‘gypsy-style’ finale – and the concert will also feature Schubert’s final symphony, the ‘Great C major’.
