Clare Hammond is noted for the virtuosity of her playing and for her brilliant
performances of contemporary music. She has given many premieres of major works
by living composers and recorded several of them. She has performed at the Barbican in London, she marked the centenary of composer Andrej Panufnik with a concert tour in Poland in 2014, and she appears frequently in chamber music. Her programme includes Rachmaninov’s second piano sonata, a hugely virtuosic and demanding work by one of the greatest composer-pianists. She will also play a set of twelve studies by Chopin, and a selection of Debussy’s beautiful and evocative preludes.

The piano for this recital is generously sponsored by Sir Brian & Lady Unwin
